IMPORTANT BLOG UPDATE

Image
Unfortunately, audience, I will no longer be writing my Animal Ancestry blogs. Admittedly I have gotten bored of the topic, and don't want these blogs to be a burden one me. So, I will be changing the layout of my blogs entirely, with content based on my ever-growing to do list. Almost like a reflection journal. First I'll be starting off with movies I've been meaning to watch and then give some sort of review. If it works out, hopefully I can expand into other genres. The 'Animal Ancestry' title will be changed when I can think of a new one. Thank you all for you support. See you soon ;)

Animal Ancestry P3: "The Derpodon"

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the Animal Ancestry blog, where I tell you all about the theoretical ancestors of animals we know and love today!      Now,  I know what you're thinking. What in the H-E-double hockey sticks is a "Derpodon"? Well, do you remember the word "derpy"? Kinda popular in the mid-2010's? To be honest, I hadn't either, right up until I saw this thing.     This my friends, is the derpy Platybelodon. Between the various definitions on Urban Dictionary, "derpy" basically means extremely awkward, which is honestly a perfect description of this weirdo.        Before I continue, who do you think is the closest living relative of this bizarre beast is?     Is it the elephant?  Or is it the hippo?      Well, if you said the elephant, then you were right! Hooray! You reward is...uh...to bully whoever said it was the hippo :D     That's right! Even though it looks...

Animal Ancestry P2: The Pig from Hell

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the Animal Ancestry blog, where I tell you all about the theoretical ancestors of animals we know and love today!      It's somehow already October, so you know what that means! Yes, Halloween, the holiday known for its traditions of hunting and devouring of sweets and horrific themes. Speaking of hunting, devouring, and horrific, today I will be talking about quite a scary animal, one you will definitely be grateful that it's extinct.            Awww look at the wittle piggies! In their wittle pumpkin costumes! I wonder what their favorite candy is. Probably...I don't know...EVERYTHING. Not many know this, but all pigs, hogs, and boars are actually omnivores. Sure they love fruits and veggies like any normal herbivore, but they also love the occasional decomposing carcass every now and then. However, they don't come close to a real predator's instinctual desire for meat. Not anymore at...

Animal Ancestry P1: "I whale miss having legs..."

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the first installment in my Animal Ancestry blog, where I tell you about the theoretical ancestors of animals we know and love today! I thought I should go big for the very first one, and there's nothing bigger than a whale! Well, except a skyscraper. Or like, one of those huge battleships. Or the Epcot ball...                                                             Whales are widely known to be gargantuan creatures, with the largest species of whale, the blue whale, reaching a maximum of 30 meters long. That's about 100 feet long, with about 200 tons worth of blubber. Their tongues can weigh up to an elephant, while their hearts are just as much as a an average car. In conclusion, the blue whale is the largest creature ever to exist. Well, that we know of... ...
